The Bafoussam Regional Hospital Center is making teachers sentinels against strokes

On December 3rd, the Bafoussam Regional Hospital Center organized a training session on stroke (CVA) prevention and early recognition for 70 Basic Education teachers from the West Region.
The training covered: early warning signs of stroke, immediate actions to take, major risk factors, and prevention strategies in schools and communities.
The goal is to empower teachers as community educators, capable of raising awareness among pupils, families, and neighborhoods—helping reduce deaths and disabilities caused by stroke.
This initiative highlights the social mission of BRHC, which extends beyond clinical care to public health promotion. It is also part of the strong collaboration between BRHC and the Groupe Hospitalier Nord Essonne (GHNE – France), aimed at strengthening local capacity to fight neurovascular diseases.
Together, we are building a region that is better informed, more responsive, and better protected.
